1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage and session storage — let a site keep small amounts of information in your browser. We use these technologies to make the site work, to remember your choices, and to understand how the site is used. They do not give us access to the rest of your device.
2. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site and signed-in experience to function — for example, security, load balancing and basic session handling. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Preferences. Remember choices you make, such as your selected theme (light or dark). These improve your experience but are not essential.
- Analytics. Help us understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product. Where required by law, these are only set with your consent.
3. Example cookies & storage
The table below lists representative items. Exact names and durations may vary as the product evolves.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
cinecli-theme | Stores your light/dark theme preference | Persistent (until cleared) | Preferences (localStorage) |
cinecli-session | Maintains your signed-in session | Session | Strictly necessary (cookie) |
cinecli-consent | Remembers your cookie consent choices | Up to 12 months | Strictly necessary (cookie) |
_analytics_id | Distinguishes users for aggregate analytics | Up to 13 months | Analytics (cookie) |
4. How to control cookies
You can manage or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies, delete existing ones, and clear site storage. Refer to your browser's help pages (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and others) for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working.
5. Third-party analytics
We may use a third-party analytics provider to measure aggregate usage of the site. Where we do, the provider may set its own cookies or identifiers, subject to its policies and, where required, your consent.
6. Consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Preference and analytics technologies may require your prior consent depending on your location (for example, under the EU/UK ePrivacy rules). Where required, we will ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies and will record your choice.
cinecli-consent record reflects the user's actual choices.
